The purpose of this role is to provide competent technical support in relation to the design, documentation and contract administration of HV and Power Systems engineering projects including: Energy infrastructure such as HV network design, HV distribution systems, protection settings studies, grid connection studies and earthing designs. Work with and contribute to a national team of HV and Power Systems Engineers to deliver superior project outcomes. Undertake power system studies including grid connection, enhance transient analysis, load flow, protection settings and earthing studies. Providing technical support for HV and Power Systems project work as required. Preparing documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitoring regimes in respect of work on or around electrical engineering projects. Liaising with other department engineers and drafters to ensure project goals are met. Participating in technical reviews of procurement and construction contract packages. Progress monitoring and reporting. Undertaking scope control and trending of scope changes as needed. Meeting assigned dates for engineering deliverables. Managing costs associated with allocated project work. Accountable for project and proposal performance (time, cost and quality). Key selection criteria - Qualifications - University engineering degree or equivalent, recognised by Engineers Australia. Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia. Site induction training card (white card). Experience & Technical Skills Minimum 5-7 years previous experience within an engineering consultancy or equivalent. Previous experience with HV modelling packages such ETAPTM, Digsilent Power FactoryTM, SKM Power tools for windowsTM or similar. Previous experience in Earthing design and simulation software such as CDEGSTM. Strong collaboration and project coordination with ability to drive successful project outcomes. Strong experience in the built environment and social infrastructure sectors. High level of project management and technical ability across within the electrical discipline. Highly developed engineering and assessment skills. Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
