About the role
The Environment and Planning Specialist role at TasNetworks, will be part of the Environment and Sustainability Team and responsible for providing timely expert advice and support to the Major Transmission Projects Team. There will be particular focus on the coordination and review of key environmental, heritage and planning documents.
Working as part of an efficient and collaborative team, the role is focussed on meeting project outcomes while implementing TasNetworks Environment and Sustainability Policy. You will ensure that relevant legislative standards and requirements are identified and met, and that any associated risks are managed practically and effectively.
Consulting with a range of external and internal stakeholders, the role will provide guidance and support to the business; building effective working relationships and influencing for positive outcomes.
Practical, risk based, solution focus, up to date industry and environmental knowledge will be valued attributes of the role.

About you
Coupled with a Degree in Environmental Science/Land Use Planning (or equivalent) and experience working in a regulatory or planning approval environment, you will bring a thorough understanding of relevant environmental, land use planning and cultural heritage issues, highlighting your understanding of environmental management best practice and industry legislation.
You will have a deep strong understanding of managing projects and obtaining approvals, offering strong time management and communication skills with a resilient and adaptable approach.
Your proven ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, seeking information and providing high level advice will see you succeed in this role.
