Permanent, Full-Time | $81,301.88 - $94,200.62 12% superannuation | Leaseback vehicle About the Opportunity Georges River Council is looking for a proactive and community-focused Ranger to join our Environment and Planning Directorate. In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for regulating activities within the Local Government Area (LGA), ensuring compliance with a range of legislation including the Protection of the Environment Operations Act, Local Government Act, Companion Animals Act, Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act and more. As a Ranger, you’ll conduct regular patrols of public land, parks, reserves, and leash-free areas to monitor and manage unauthorised use, parking, animal control, and other community concerns. You’ll investigate complaints, gather evidence, and take appropriate enforcement action in line with Council policies and procedures. Your work will help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and enjoyment of public spaces for all residents. This role also involves liaising with contractors and stakeholders, issuing regulatory notices, preparing court documents, and representing Council in legal proceedings when required. You’ll play a key part in education and enforcement campaigns and contribute to upholding workplace health and safety standards. What We Offer Permanent, Full time - 70 hours per fortnight Salary from $81,301.88 - $94,200.62 per annum plus 12% superannuation (dependent on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate) Operational Leaseback Vehicle 7-day rotating roster Additional Health and Wellbeing paid leave Fitness Passport Program offering discounted membership for you and your family to selected facilities Employee Assistance Program Salary Packaging Options Sponsored Study Program Employee Rewards Program Ongoing Education and Resources What We Are looking For Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent Local Government Regulatory Qualifications or enrolled in and working towards such qualification Class C Drivers licence Previous experience in undertaking Local Government regulatory duties Experience in the use of the SEINS system Knowledge of the issuing of Notices/Orders under the Local Government Act, Companion Animals Act and Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act Knowledge of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act pertaining to water, litter and noise pollution Demonstrated ability to prepare statements for prosecution in the Local Court Demonstrated high proficiency in customer service with well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely Sound proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office suite Demonstrated level of conflict resolution and mediation skills Proven ability to work well within a team environment Ability to work in Council’s seven day rotating shift roster with scheduled work times between 7am and 6pm and agreed arrangements for after-hours complaint investigations A demonstrated commitment to EEO and WHS principles If you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the Position Description essential criteria, then please submit your application today.
