About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Leading Hand to join our construction team at Reitsma Constructions Pty Ltd in the Southern Highlands/Mittagong area, NSW. As the Leading Hand you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the day‑to‑day operations of our construction projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality work. This is a full‑time position, offering the opportunity to work with a respected and growing construction company.
What you'll be doing
* Supervising and leading a team of construction workers to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
* Coordinating the workflow and allocating tasks to team members based on their skills and abilities.
* Monitoring and reporting on project progress, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
* Providing guidance, mentorship and training to team members to develop their skills.
* Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
What we're looking for
* Significant experience (5+ years) as a Leading Hand or Supervisor in the construction industry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
* Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing situations.
* Thorough understanding of construction techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
