About the Role
TAFE Gippsland is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join the team as a Teacher in Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs, based at our Traralgon campus. In this role, you will deliver the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs and the Certificate IV in Mental Health, supporting students to build the practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the sector. You will design and deliver engaging, industry-current training and assessment, utilise innovative and online learning approaches, and contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of our programs. This role also involves working closely with industry stakeholders, maintaining compliance with VET quality standards, and supporting students throughout their learning journey to maximise retention and success.
About You
You are a passionate Mental Health and/or AOD professional with strong industry experience and a genuine desire to support the next generation of practitioners. You hold (or are willing to obtain) a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent), along with relevant qualifications in Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, or a related field. You bring demonstrated experience in delivering or supporting training, along with the ability to engage a diverse range of learners through flexible, innovative teaching methods, including online delivery. With a strong understanding of VET compliance requirements and training packages, you are organised, collaborative, and committed to maintaining your professional and vocational currency while contributing positively to a high-performing team.
