Social Worker - Senior, HP4, Social Work Department, Bundaberg Hospital - H2604WB679860
Bundaberg Hospital is seeking a dynamic Senior Social Worker to lead high‐quality clinical care, support complex cases and inspire excellence within a multidisciplinary team.
Your Opportunity
* Address emergent priority Social Work service issues across the hospital during rostered days including weekends and public holidays to progress in‐patient challenges on behalf of the social work team to assist early discharge.
* Provide high‐level acute Social Worker clinical services to patients of Bundaberg Hospital through alternating seven‐day roster patterns of weekday and weekend shifts inclusive of public holidays.
* Deliver professional leadership and act as a resource in your area of expertise within the Bundaberg Hospital, including clinical practice supervision of less experienced Social Workers and clinical support staff. The position will function as part of interdisciplinary and collaborative teams within the hospital.
What we're looking for
* High level of knowledge and complex problem‐solving skills to provide Social Work services across the hospital, in addition to working autonomously on weekends and public holidays.
* Effective and independent clinical functioning as a sole rostered practitioner, including prioritisation, appropriate intervention and care focused on avoidance of admission or early discharge.
* High level written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate within multidisciplinary teams involving staff, clients and their families/carers.
* Able to work a 7‐day roster pattern involving alternate weekends and public holidays.
* Accurate data entry and reporting and medico‐legal documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University‐level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short‐listing in the selection process.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and, if applicable, registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
* This position requires the applicant to work a 7‐day roster pattern involving alternate weekends and public holidays to deliver rostered Social Worker support to in‐patients and assist with early discharge or transfer of care.
