The Export Operator is responsible for managing the end-to-end export process, ensuring timely and efficient shipment handling in compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. This role involves coordinating with clients and shipping lines to arrange bookings, complete necessary documentation, and ensure all relevant paperwork is accurate and submitted on time. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing logistics and shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Overall, the key areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to):
- Manage the export shipment process from start to finish, ensuring timely communication with customers, partners, and suppliers, and issuing accurate documentation and invoices.
- Verify and approve all costs paid to shipping lines and freight forwarders, ensuring accurate creditor invoices and promptly resolving any issues.
- Identify opportunities to add value and maximize margins throughout the shipment cycle, while maintaining solid relationships with customers and responding to inquiries efficiently.
- Complete export documentation accurately, escalate commercial risks as needed, and provide operational support when required.
Key Experience
To be considered for this role you will have/ be:
- 3 + years’ experience in Freight Forwarding is essential.
- Essential experience in export operations across sea and air freight.
- Cargowise experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What’s on offer?
