Do Work That Matters

We're a 'Family Friendly' certified workplace – we understand the diverse roles our team members need to play within their own unique family setting and actively support them.

Your New Role And Responsibilities

This role will see you take on and steer a well‐established Defence account. As a Business Development Manager, your role will be part of the account leadership team to shape the future of the account, in line with the customer's strategy. The role will involve supporting the Account Executive by providing strategic management – to maintain a strong understanding of relevant capability areas where Leidos Australia might compete to support customers. This role has a specific focus on the Land Domain with Defence, and you will be able to develop a sound appreciation of Defence perspectives and goals in relation to the Land Domain.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

* Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities for Leidos
* Execute the Company's business capture management processes
* Coordinate customer relationships critical to new business development, including partnership development
* Establish and maintain enduring, inclusive relationships and communication with key Defence stakeholders (Service Headquarters, Capability Acquisition & Sustainment Group, Defence Digital Group, Joint Capabilities Group etc.) at appropriate levels to qualify and grow the Defence business
* Contribute to Request for Tender responses
* Provide input into current and long‐range business strategies to enhance the Company's position in Australia

What You'll Bring To Make An Impact

This role requires strong ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business and externally. Key to this role is your ability to listen to customer needs, synthesise information from a range of sources and respond to that information accordingly.

* Confident communicator, both orally and in written form, and to individuals as well as large groups
* Proven ability to create and maintain both internal and external professional networks
* Skilled in managing and assimilating information for a varied audience in many different formats
* Ability to learn, collaborate, and network with senior stakeholders and enjoy engaging with people
* Understanding of Defence/Military Operations
* Understanding of Service Headquarters, the Defence Capability Acquisition process and relevant acquisition agencies
* Strong network within Defence (including Army) is essential

You will have an excellent level of competency and knowledge of the functional areas with substantial hands‐on experience within Defence or Defence Industry. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to collaborate and network with senior stakeholders and enjoy engaging with people. Good communications skills will be expected. This role will be well suited to someone who is passionate about contributing to the success of a company and Defence missions.

Don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes – if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application. We're most interested in your strengths, what you want to learn and how far you want to go.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to hold or be willing to obtain an NV‐1 security clearance.
