Senior Accountant – Strata Finance (ACT & QLD)
Canberra Based | Full-Time | Lead Financial Operations Across Two States
Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for precision and client service? We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the end-to-end financial management of our ACT and QLD strata plan portfolios.
This is a pivotal role that offers full autonomy and ownership over budgets, audits, cashflow, compliance, and client reporting. You will be the financial expert across both regions, partnering with internal teams, executive committees, and external auditors to ensure high standards of delivery and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial functions across ACT and QLD strata plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting
Oversee daily finance operations including receipting, reconciliations, and account maintenance
Manage term deposit investments, loan arrangements, and levy processing
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports including P&L, balance sheets, and cashflow analysis
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to address audit queries
Prepare and review BAS, year-end tax returns, and accrual journals
Manage onboarding/offboarding of strata plans and financial transitions
Process payroll and superannuation for building managers employed by Owners Corporations
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and dishonoured transactions
Attend finance meetings and provide strategic financial insight to executive committees
Support continuous improvement by reviewing exceptions, enhancing processes, and mentoring junior team members
About You
Degree qualified in Accounting or related field
5+ years' experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within strata or property sectors
Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit management
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence dealing with a range of stakeholders
Meticulous attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
Tech-savvy with experience using accounting systems and platforms (Freshdesk experience a plus)
A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to manage competing priorities
