The opportunity

Inner West Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Building Certification team as a Building Certification Cadet. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about assessing, inspecting, and certifying building work.

You will play a vital role in responsive management of customer requests and issuing Certificates and carrying out mandatory inspections as part of this 12-month supported program.

What is the traineeship

This is a 12-month supported program you will receive continuous assistance throughout the journey.
There will be on the job training and formal training and assessment completing a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) 12mths

You will work towards achieving the competencies outlined in a training plan, complete assigned training and assessments, and maintain a training record.

A building certification cadet job involves assisting building certifiers with site inspections to verify that construction is proceeding according to approved plans and regulations. The role provides a pathway to becoming a licensed building certifier, which requires formal qualifications and experience.

From $827.40 per week + superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

* Capacity to undertake and actively working towards a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) 12mths
* Assistance with the triage and assessment of applications associated with the initiatives of Council
* Ability to use the Microsoft Office package and keyboard skills.
* Good verbal communication skills
* Manage customer complaints and inquiries through various channels
* Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
