Seeking an experienced Civil Design Technical Officer to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects. Long term hourly rate contract.
We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Technical Officer to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects within a Brisbane‐based local government environment. This is a 12‐month contract engagement offering a competitive hourly rate, with strong potential for ongoing renewal.

About the Role
This role will see you working on a program of moderate complexity road and transport infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of practical, community‐focused outcomes.
Working within a collaborative team environment, you will contribute to the preparation of design documentation and provide technical input to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to team direction and a culture of performance excellence by participating actively, providing feedback, and meeting agreed performance standards.
* Deliver civil design outputs for small to medium‐scale projects in a timely, customer‐focused environment.
* Prepare design documentation in accordance with agreed time, cost, and quality objectives.
* Undertake design tasks using 12D, AutoCAD, and/or other CAD systems.
* Prepare professional technical documentation including reports, design briefs, and correspondence.
* Investigate and provide advice on technical issues relating to civil infrastructure, including traffic control devices.
* Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external consultants to support project delivery.
About You
You are a practical, delivery‐focused civil design professional who is comfortable working across multiple smaller projects simultaneously. You understand the pace and expectations of a local government environment and bring a strong customer and community focus to your work. In terms of qualifications and experience you will have:
* Certificate IV in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in civil/transport infrastructure design.
* Demonstrated experience using 12d, AutoCAD, and/or other CAD systems.
* Proven ability to deliver design outputs across multiple projects.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in civil infrastructure design, including traffic control devices.
Highly Desirable
* Experience working within local government or consulting to local government clients.
* Familiarity with council standards, specifications, and approval processes.
