Senior Control Systems Engineer Job Description
About This Role
This is a unique opportunity to work as a Senior Control Systems Engineer, responsible for designing and developing advanced process control systems, HMIs, and SCADAs.
Job Responsibilities
* Developing engineering design and development specifications.
* Creating PLC & advanced process control development, HMI, and SCADA development solutions.
* Preparing machine process design architecture and control systems architecture.
* Maintaining Metso standard product portfolio in line with the product roadmap.
* Crafting specific solutions for customers.
* Collaborating with a team of Control System Engineers.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills required for frequent interaction with internal and external customers, suppliers, and support of product development and customer projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 7 years (preferred 10) of experience.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Significant knowledge of industrial process control design, network architecture, and MES/ERP integrations.
* Strong proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and APC systems.
* PLC development experience on Rockwell/GE platforms.
* AVERA (Citect) SCADA development.
* Implementation of industrial fieldbus protocols.
* Configuration and troubleshooting of industrial controls and instrumentation.
* Siemens/Rockwell variable speed drive design and commissioning.
* Bulk material handling process experience.
* Factory Acceptance Testing.
* Control system commissioning.
Desirable Experience
* SQL development for industrial integration.
* PLC development on Siemens, ABB, Schneider products.
* InTouch, Cimplicity, Factory Talk View SCADA development.
* Designing process automation solutions for OEM equipment.
* Project management.
* Functional safety.
* ABB variable speed drive design and commissioning.
* Plant historians and databases.
* Engineers Australia membership (or eligibility).
