Job description:

* Location: Fulham Corrections Facility
* Role Type: Ongoing, Part-Time 0.6 FTE, approx. 22 hours per week
* Remuneration: Starting from $77,201.60 inclusive of super (pro rata)

About The Role:

As a Student Support Officer (internally known as Koorie Tutor), you'll work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one and group support to First Nations students in custody. You'll help learners stay engaged, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond incarceration.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting Koorie students with coursework and learning strategies
* Providing mentoring and encouragement to build confidence
* Creating a safe and respectful learning environment
* Offering culturally responsive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners

* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* An understanding of the importance of cultural identity and community connection
* Great communication skills and a compassionate listener
* A commitment to inclusive, respectful education practices

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a bonus, but not essential.
