About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high-performing and growing team, responsible for conceptual and detailed design, power system modeling, and studies. You will work on HV systems across various sectors, including microgrids, renewable energy plants, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, and carbon capture facilities.

As part of our National HV team, you will be responsible for leading the local team and participating in national teams' goals. You will have completed a Bachelor or Master's in Electrical Engineering or similar and be working towards your Chartered status. A minimum of 5 years' experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work on all aspects of electrical scope of work across all phases of projects.
* Design HV & LV generation, distribution, reticulation, and control systems.
* Produce technical documentation, specifications, and datasheets for electrical equipment.
* Power system studies, including earth grid performance studies, load flow, fault levels, protection coordination, and dynamic/transient system analysis.
* Detailed design of secondary control and protection systems.
* Guide, coach, and mentor engineers across the discipline.

You'll be a critical thinker with great attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills. As a multi-disciplinary engineering company, open communication is vital, and supporting the team across the business is critical to our success and workplace culture.

Requirements:

* Extensive technical experience in designing electrical systems for large-scale installations.
* Proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as SKM PTW, ETap, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, etc.
* Experience working with network/distribution NSPs, knowledge of the NER.
* Experience with AEMO connections and GPS studies will be advantageous.
* Field experience in large-scale electrical installations, including IED protection IED configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and construction support will be advantageous.
* Knowledge of prevalent high voltage design standards and codes.
* Solid understanding of electrical protection and control systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
