We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Rail Operations Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain practical experience in rail operations while completing a nationally recognized qualification.
As a Rail Operations Trainee, you will be responsible for operating locomotives safely and efficiently, conducting roll-by inspections, and driving Aurizon motor vehicles. You will also be required to work in accordance with our safety and operational standards and procedures.
Upon successful completion of the training program, you will obtain a Nationally Recognized Certificate IV in Driving Operations. This certification will enable you to apply theoretical knowledge from training to practical operation.
 * Safe operation of locomotives including mainline and yard operations
 * Basic train examination competencies such as roll by inspections
 * Drive Aurizon motor vehicles as required
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, be able to work a 24/7 shift work roster, and possess a current unrestricted Class C drivers' licence. Additionally, you should be willing to undertake an extensive training program, which includes theory and practical components.
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as testing, references, and a CAT 1 Rail medical is a requirement of these roles.
