The role of Safety and Quality Consultant is to develop, implement and maintain robust safety and quality management systems that ensure compliance with legal requirements and client expectations. This position supports a culture of continuous improvement and risk mitigation across environmental consulting projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures across field and office operations.
* Develop, implement and oversee health and safety systems tailored to contaminated land, heritage assessments, environmental monitoring and community engagement.
* Provide key input to Safe Work method Statements and safety plans and to Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with risk identification relating to site specific risks for hazardous materials.
* Conduct risk assessments and safety audits and training needs assessments.
* Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventative actions are followed.
* Manage and oversee processes for safety inductions, training, toolbox talks, and safety communication.
* Deliver internal safety training and lead safety communication.
Required skills and qualifications include having the confidence to provide leadership in the evolution of our safety culture, promoting a proactive safety and quality culture by engaging staff at all levels, assisting in developing and mentoring staff in safety leadership and quality awareness, and having strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Relevant Tertiary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a relevant field.
* Hold a current and valid drivers licence.
This is an ongoing role that can be based out of our Melbourne or Sydney offices.
