Chanya Thai Restaurant is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. We are a renowned Thai restaurant that prides itself on delivering authentic and flavourful Thai cuisine. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Thai dishes, ensuring authenticity, high quality, and consistency in taste and presentation.
- Follow traditional Thai recipes and culinary guidelines to maintain the standards of the restaurant.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute Thai menu items efficiently during busy service periods.
- Assist with the development of new Thai menu items and specials, incorporating traditional flavours and techniques.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed at all times, in line with Thai culinary traditions.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of Thai ingredients and supplies, informing the Kitchen Manager of any needs or shortages.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised work area in accordance with Thai culinary practices.
- Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen staff, providing guidance on Thai cooking methods and authentic Thai flavours.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and professional work environment, reflecting Thai hospitality and teamwork.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook, preferably with expertise in Thai cuisine, gained in a similar high-volume restaurant setting.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Thai cooking techniques, traditional flavours, and food presentation.
- Familiarity with various Thai cooking methods and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining Thai culinary authenticity.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, embodying Thai hospitality and cooperation.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with an emphasis on Thai culinary practices.
Salary
The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $77,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
