About the role
This is a part-time Tourism Coordinator role located in SA's Mid North & Yorke Tourism Zone - Clare Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Southern Flinders Ranges - offering a flexible work arrangement to the successful candidate.
The Tourism Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the organisation's day-to-day operations and advancing its tourism objectives. This role is responsible for administration, database management, engagement with local tourism operators, and delivery of marketing and communications activities. The position requires a highly organised and proactive individual with strong communication and digital skills.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Administration & Operations
* Manage general office administration, correspondence, and reporting.
* Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and organisational documents.
* Provide support for meetings, events, and stakeholder communications.
Database & Information Management
* Manage and update membership/operator databases.
* Ensure accuracy and accessibility of tourism operator and partner information.
* Assist with reporting and data collation for stakeholders.
Industry & Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong relationships with local tourism operators, councils, and stakeholders.
* Provide timely information and support to operators regarding opportunities and activities.
* Assist in coordinating industry events, workshops, or networking sessions.
Marketing & Communications
* Plan, create, and schedule social media content across multiple platforms.
* Design digital and print marketing materials using Canva.
* Support delivery of marketing campaigns in collaboration with regional/state tourism bodies.
* Monitor engagement, prepare basic analytics reports, and identify opportunities to grow reach.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in administration and database management.
* Experience working with tourism operators, businesses, or community stakeholders.
* Demonstrated capability in social media management and content creation.
* Proficiency in Canva (or similar design tools).
* Proven experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably within the tourism industry
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
* A passion for tourism and a desire to promote the unique attractions and experiences of the SA's Mid North and Yorke region
Desirable
* Knowledge of the tourism industry and regional development.
* Experience using CRM systems or membership databases.
* Familiarity with marketing platforms (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, or similar).
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
* Part-time, permanent position (hours negotiable, e.g., 3 days per week).
* Work from Home, based in the Mid North and Yorke Tourism Zone.
* Salary package: $65,000 (including superannuation)
