We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining the electrical systems within our piggery farm units.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineering Technician at Australian Meat Group, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical engineering instruments and control systems across our piggery farm facilities. This includes critical systems such as water supply/drippers, feed systems, and environmental control systems (ventilation, fans, heating, etc.). You will work closely with engineers and managers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems, providing vital support to ensure the uptime of essential equipment and systems.
What You'll Be Doing
* Inspecting and installing designs for compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
* Undertaking electrical workshop functions, including installing assemblies for protection relays, metering devices, and other control equipment.
* Assisting with research and experimentation programs to improve operational efficiency.
* Performing data collection, testing, calculations, and preparing charts and reports based on findings.
* Installing, upgrading, modifying, and calibrating electrical systems and equipment.
* Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in electrical equipment and control systems.
* Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
* Marking up and redlining electrical installation drawings, plans, and diagrams.
* Assisting in the design and layout of electrical installations on substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
* Estimating materials costs and quantities for various electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance & Repair: Perform regular preventative maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on electrical instrument/control systems, including water supply and drippers, sow feeders, and environmental control systems.
* Compliance & Safety: Report and address any non‑compliance issues related to the safety and integrity of electrical systems.
* Troubleshooting & Fault Diagnosis: Conduct tests and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify faults and ensure swift resolution.
* Quality Assurance: Maintain and ensure high‑quality standards in all electrical installations and maintenance activities, with a strong focus on continual improvement.
About You
* Proven experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or similar role
* Problem‑solving skills
* Familiarity with electrical diagrams, plans, and specifications.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems and control systems, particularly in automated environments.
Remuneration
This is subject to your skills, qualifications and experience, but it would be within a salary range of between $80,000 - $95,000 per annum + superannuation.
