About the Role Provide personalised in-home care support to older Australians living in Cairns, helping them remain independent in their own homes.
The successful candidate will be available for casual shifts on weekdays (with occasional weekends) between 7am and 7pm, covering leave and last-minute shifts, with up to 15 hours per week available. This flexible role is suitable for those seeking additional hours that can fit around school or other commitments.
Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance: light cleaning, changing bed linen, washing/laundry In-home supports: meal preparation and assistance with daily living Social supports: attending medical appointments, participating in community activities, maintaining social networks Personal care: showering, hygiene, health monitoring (e.g., wound care, skin integrity) Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or similar) or prior industry experience Passion for positively impacting the ageing community Australian Driver's Licence and reliable registered vehicle Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships Current First Aid and CPR Certificates (to be obtained prior to employment) Successful candidates will need to pass probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check.
