Primary objective
Provide ICT support to the staff, students and whole school community. Manage the operational delivery of ICT services in
accordance with DET policies and ensure security compliance is met at all times. Maintain and provide resources to
continually develop the IT operational and communication capabilities of the school.
Context statement
Katherine South Primary School is an open plan school of approximately 200 students. The primary school is located in
Katherine South on Riverbank Drive and includes Preschool to year 6. Of the student enrolment, approximately 42% are
Indigenous. The school is a learning community of multi-age classes with a clear focus on inclusiveness, celebrating diversity
and growing a strong sense of community
Kintore Street School is a special school in the Katherine region that caters for students with moderate and severe intellectual
and/or multiple physical impairment, aged 31⁄2 to 18 years. The school provides individual programs to suit the Academic,
Educational, Social, Emotional, future employment and recreational needs of all our students. The whole school community
embraces our motto "Towards Independence".
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the operational delivery of ICT services in accordance with Katherine South Primary School and DET and ensure
security compliance is met at all times.
2. Establish and manage school ICT operational policies and procedures.
3. Provide technical support to the whole school for the operational, ongoing development and maintenance of the school
ICT networks and communications.
4. Maintain and provide resources to continually develop the ICT operation and communication capabilities of the school.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge of ICT procedures and processes as relative to DET. Working knowledge of standard software suites as
implemented by DET and schools.
2. Practical knowledge in implementing ICT policies and procedures.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of school current business systems, Student Administration systems, portal, websites and other
systems use by DET.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of office procedure and practices.
