Permanent full time, up to 76 hours per fortnight or 80 hours + ADO

(Junior rates apply to employees aged under 19 years)

We are seeking a highly capable Board and Executive Support Officer to play a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation's governance and executive operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role provides high-level executive assistance to the Chief Executive Officer and delivers professional, end-to-end administrative support for the Board and its Committees. The position is instrumental in ensuring the Board operates efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with its fiduciary responsibilities and statutory accountabilities.

You will be a trusted partner to the Chief Executive and Board, supporting sound decision-making, strong governance, and effective oversight in line with the requirements of the Minister for Health and relevant legislation governing Victorian public hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
* Providing confidential and proactive executive support to the Chief Executive
* Coordinating all Board and Board Committee activities, including agendas, papers, minutes, action tracking, and annual work plans
* Ensuring governance documentation, records, and processes meet legislative, policy, and compliance requirements
* Acting as a key liaison point between Board members, Executives, and external stakeholders
* Supporting effective governance practices, reporting, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience supporting Boards and senior executives
* Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and confidentiality requirements
* Knowledge and/or experience in Victorian public sector environments
* Ability to think strategically to act as the "corporate memory" of the Board
* Exceptional written communication and proficient drafting, editing and proofing skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and sound judgement
* Previous experience in a health service/hospital setting
* Demonstrable organisational skills to ensure strict deadlines are met

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.

About Our Organisation

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100 kms east of Melbourne.

All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six-month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
