About the Role
Larvotto Resources is forging ahead, and we are seeking a dynamic Senior Specialist Finance to join our on-site Mining team on 5 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on, 2 days off roster. This role is not just about managing financial operations; it's about shaping the financial future of our project and leaving your imprint on how we do things around here.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the financial management of mining projects and operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
* Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and monitor project and operations budgets.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data to senior management and external stakeholders.
* Provide financial guidance and support to project and operations teams, including training and mentoring in commercial matters.
* Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
* Develop finance and commercial policies to guide the accounting practices and processes of the operation.
* Establish month-end procedures and practical tools.
* Design and build reporting tools to enable actual vs. budget expense reporting to enable cost control.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in the mining industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
* Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Pronto, and Xero.
* Experience with financial modelling and data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
Also Required:-
* Must be able to provide National Police Clearance - <6 months old or willing to obtain.
* Complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
* Senior First Aid Certificate/CPR Qualification (Desirable).
