SGH is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst / Associate to join our Melbourne team and support the operational backbone of our growing investment management business.
This role offers hands-on exposure across portfolio operations, reporting, trade support and investment administration, working closely with experienced investment professionals across the firm.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Middle Office, you will support portfolio administration, investment operations and reporting across the business.
You will work closely with the Investment, Middle Office and Client Services teams to ensure the smooth and accurate operation of our investment management platform, while also helping identify opportunities to improve processes and automate reporting workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Operations
* Support daily portfolio operations including reconciliations, corporate actions and trade monitoring
* Monitor applications, redemptions and distributions
* Maintain portfolio data within IRESS IPS and internal systems
* Assist with portfolio compliance monitoring
Reporting
* Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly client reporting
* Extract portfolio and performance data for internal and external reporting
* Maintain reporting documentation and operational procedures
Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows
* Support automation of reporting and data processes
* Assist with improving reporting templates and internal systems
Compliance
* Ensure operational activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
* Assist with audit and compliance reporting
About You
* 1–3 years' experience in financial services, investment operations, administration or client services
* (strong graduates will also be considered)
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Interest in financial markets and investment management
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance or a related field
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
* Interest in automation, AI tools or process improvement
* Experience with IRESS, Xplan or Salesforce is advantageous
