Position Information
Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College Berkeley Vale Campus is a 7–10 campus with an enrolment of 856 students, including 14% Aboriginal students. It is part of Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College and is one of two middle school campuses. A staff of 54 teachers delivers a quality, balanced, and comprehensive education program. The school offers an enriched curriculum that caters for diverse learning needs through differentiation and high expectations, supported by Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and Differentiation.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated educational leadership skills with the proven capacity to lead and manage a diverse English faculty, cultivating a collaborative and high performing team environment to drive excellence in teaching and learning for all students, including High Potential and Gifted students from Years 7 to 10 and their pathways.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data-driven, evidence-based teaching initiatives, including explicit teaching, that improve student success, engagement and outcomes.
* Commitment to inclusive practices, demonstrated by an ability to foster the integration of Aboriginal perspectives, values, and knowledge, and to actively support inclusion and diversity in the English curriculum and school life.
* Proven ability to be a dynamic member of the school executive leadership team and to lead initiatives, including literacy, that address whole school strategic directions and productive relationships across the school community.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
