**The opportunity**
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 Information Management Officer to work within their procurement and corporate services branch.
- 12-month initial contract with the opportunity to extend
- APS5 level role offering an hourly rate of $55.24 + Super
- Geelong based, with 3 days in the office and 2 from home
**The role**
As an EL1 Assistant Director, your role will focus on system improvements, creation of clear operational guidelines for front line staff to achieve improved services for customers.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of policies and processes to ensure records and information management compliance
- Contributing to the provision of specialist information management advice and recommendations to individuals and teams across the Agency
- Monitoring Agency information management activities
- Assisting in training, advice and support on the Agency's records management system
- Contributing to a range of information management activities and improvement projects
**About you**
To success in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in information management/records management at a mid or senior level
- Previous experience in government, with knowledge of Commonwealth legislative requirements for information and records management
- Experience with utilising relevant EDRMS/Document management systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders across large complex organisations
