Primary objective
Using a working knowledge of multimedia (video, audio, photo, graphic) technology and associated equipment, assist in delivery of multimedia and creative design projects for the NT Music School, including but not limited to planning, filming, editing. This position can be based in either Darwin or Alice Springs. Some travel, including remote travel is required, as well as proactive liaison with partner schools.
Context statement
The NT Music School mission is to provide instrumental, ensemble and choral tuition, music education services, support, events, and programs to NT Government Schools. It is a specialist school providing programs and services to schools across the Northern Territory. A key current Multimedia program is VAMPtv, celebrating the work of remote schools. This position could be undertaken in either Alice Springs or Darwin.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, filming, editing and production of multimedia and creative design projects for the NT Music School.
* Assist with the selection and maintenance of NT Music School's multimedia and creative design equipment.
* Provide multimedia and creative design training, assistance or guidance to staff and/or students of NT Schools, as required.
* Work with NT Music School staff to implement NT-wide curriculum, programs, and events, as required.
* Administration duties related to the above, and other administrative and creative support duties as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Ability to use digital video, audio and image software and equipment, including Adobe Creative Suite.
* Capabilities for teamwork, organisation, administration, and attention to detail.
* Communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, clients, stakeholders and the wider community, and an ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
* Ability to work on multiple projects to multiple timelines, simultaneously.
Desirable
* Experience working in youth-oriented programs.
* Skills and experience in performing arts (music, dance and/or drama).
* Qualifications or training in multi-media and creative design technology.
Further information
