Senior Category Development Analyst role at Woolworths Group. 12 month fixed term opportunity. Hybrid working, office based at Norwest.
Welcome to BIG W. For over 50 years, we've been helping Aussie families. Our team is our biggest asset. This role sits in the Range and Better Buying team and partners across commercial (buying) teams to deliver refreshed category plans and support supplier negotiations to drive customer value.
What You'll Do
* Partner with Category Managers, Merch Planners and other key stakeholders in the creation of data-led insights, providing recommendations on category strategy and influencing cross-functionally to land customer-first results
* Develop our supplier engagement approach to maximise collaboration and value creation
* Identify category opportunities through structured analysis and problem solving across customer behaviour, market trends, category performance, pricing, and supplier dynamics
* Incorporate strategic insights from qualitative and quantitative consumer and category research into category strategy, with articulation of available levers in supplier negotiation
* Support and influence category teams in cost and supplier negotiations
What You'll Bring
* Commercially-savvy analyst with a track record of partnering to deliver high-impact initiatives
* Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
* Clear and high-calibre presentation of information (verbal and written) for stakeholders
* Ability to simplify complex problems and present structured solutions
* Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related subject, or 1-3 years retail/category analyst experience
* Advanced Excel skills; SQL knowledge is a plus
* Previous experience as a commercial business analyst, category analyst or strategy analyst is valued
