Senior Electrical Engineer - Project Design

This position will be based at Akaysha's Head Office in Melbourne, Cremorne. Alternate locations may also be considered.
You will report directly to the leadership team.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical and control system design and delivery of Akaysha's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing and delivering electrical, mechanical, and control systems for multi-megawatt-scale energy storage systems.
2. Sizing BESS systems and producing technical specifications for BoP contractors.
3. Liaising with AEMO and network providers on primary and secondary electrical systems.
4. Managing BoP contractor deliverables and attending FATs and SATs as needed.
5. Supporting construction and commissioning phases.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
1. BS or MS in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Systems Engineering.
2. 8+ years experience in a generation, renewables, transmission, or distribution electrical engineering role.
3. Extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, and application of engineering methods.
4. Experience with primary and secondary electrical system design for renewable generators and HV substations.
5. Familiarity with SCADA and communications systems in a substation environment.
