Work at least four shifts per fortnight on the Health Practitioner roster, including one weekend shift. Shifts will mainly be during the day and afternoon. Availability to work any rostered shift on any day, with no exclusions, is essential.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team across any rostered shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime, to maintain pathology services.
* Reliability and punctuality to ensure continuous pathology service provision 24/7.
* Knowledge of principles and procedures in Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Immunoassay, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Specimen Reception.
* Experience with Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Immunoassay, Transfusion Medicine investigations, Urine Microscopy, and rapid PCR.
* Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (e.g., Auslab), Quality Control software, Microsoft Office, BloodNet, antibody registers, POCT software, etc.
* Problem-solving skills, ability to work calmly under pressure, and responsiveness to feedback for performance improvement.
* Effective communication and respectful interaction with colleagues and clients.
* Understanding of laboratory quality systems, NATA accreditation, and ISO standards.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements:
* At least a tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
* Qualifications should include Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Haematology components.
* Experience in Transfusion and Blood Film Morphology is highly desirable.
* Active membership of a relevant professional scientific association is preferred.
* The role involves moving and lifting eskies of samples and blood products, and handling pathology consumables.
* Shifts may involve microscope work while seated or standing at laboratory benches.
