Job Description:
As a Lead Botanist, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and leading field-based ecology survey work across various bioregions.
* Coordinate and lead ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.
* Plan, deliver, and analyze ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.
* Assist in managing the technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or a related field, coupled with 7-10+ years of professional experience in botanical surveys, ecological consulting, vegetation assessments, or related fieldwork.
* Excellent field skills and experience conducting surveys in various environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas.
* Strong technical reporting skills proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps).
* WA driving license and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programs.
* Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation.
