Job Title: Senior Practitioner Role
In the Children in Care and Care Leavers Team, we are seeking an experienced practitioner with a degree-level qualification in Social Work.
Main Responsibilities:
* To undertake procedurally compliant assessments and section 47 enquiries that identify risk or need based on documented evidence.
* To record and analyse information gathered during social care assessment, following case recording policy, local and national guidance, and best practice principles.
* To lead assessments resulting in clear associated plans addressing issues for children in Newcastle.
* To engage with children, carers, and families to understand their circumstances, wishes, and feelings, forming conclusions directing longer-term interventions focused on the child's best interests.
* To contribute to taking and recording children's contacts and referrals, achieving a full understanding of issues being referred.
* To assist in providing court statements and prepare reports required by courts and bodies connected with children's services.
* To work alongside colleagues providing social care advice and interventions across Newcastle City Council and agencies.
