Job Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us on site to support the delivery of our Station Relocation project in Loganlea, Brisbane.
This role will see you assisting with the upstream administration of contracts whilst dealing with correspondence, including notices of delay, EOT's and variations to the client.
The project is a circa $170mill in value, where we are relocating the current station down track to provide safer access to the public for local amenities such as the Hospital, School and University.
Task and Responsibilities
* Understand all commercial aspects of construction contracts and identify areas of financial risk
* Cost control management
* Procurement of subcontractors and negotiation of commercial terms in accordance with company protocols
* Assess and manage subcontractor claims, invoices and variations
* Preparation and submission of head contract progress claims
* Prepare monthly cost reporting and forecasting
* Assist in preparation of monthly commercial report
* Liaise with the Project Manager and wider project team to ensure commercial risks are mitigated
* Support the preparation, review and response to contractual correspondence
* Maintain all necessary registers, contractual documentation and templates
Knowledge, skills and attributes
* Demonstrated experience as a Contracts Administrator, working in the construction and engineering industry including building construction, infrastructure and rail (preferred, but not essential)
* Tertiary qualifications in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management
* Experience in all stages of the subcontract management, including preparation of the scope of works, procurement, project launch and close out
* Site-based engineering or construction experience
* Ability to work independently against the deadlines, but also work as a part of the team
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders
* Excellent attention to detail
