We are looking for a Clinical Nurse to work in the Mental Health Acute Care Community Team in Mackay, Queensland! Dates: 30th June to 17th August or 21st July to 17th August Roster: Monday to Friday, rotating morning and afternoon shifts Hours: Up to 80 hours per fortnight (overtime applies beyond 80 hours p.f.) About the Acute Care Team (ACT) The Acute Care Team is the frontline service for public mental health support in the Mackay region, operating 24/7. The team provides triage, urgent assessment, and referral to internal services (community mental health, alcohol and drug services) or external providers such as GPs or other support services. Mandatory Experience: - Acute mental health or crisis care experience - Case management and mental health triage - Competence in ECG interpretation - Ability to administer intramuscular injections Desirable Experience: - Familiarity with CIMHA database - Proficiency in ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Records) - Previous experience with QLD Health or Mackay HHS - Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2016 Mandatory Competencies: - Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Life Support (ALS) - Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK) - Manual and patient handling - Infection control procedures - Aggressive behaviour management - Mandatory reporting (child abuse & neglect) - Medication management including QPHS (Drugs & Poisons) Regulations 2012 - Responsibilities under the Aged Care Act and elder abuse protocols *Additional mandatory training may be requested by the health service* To Apply By clicking on 'Apply Now' you will register your interest to work.
