In-house Legal Counsel (Financial Services)
Australia's leading financial services group, specialising in crypto currency, has partnered with Elevate and is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the team on an initial 2-month contract. This project is due to start ASAP, with the potential for extension.
This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week (Wednesday and Friday), and you will be part of a friendly and cohesive team.
Key Responsibilities :
* Overseeing legal reviews and providing strategic counsel on product, marketing, and sales initiatives.
* Advising on compliance with evolving regulations, including Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) requirements.
* Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a range of commercial agreements.
* Driving continuous improvement, scalability, and operational excellence across corporate legal processes and practices.
What You'll Bring :
* Minimum 4 years PQE with relevant experience in financial services, either in a top-tier law firm or an in-house legal team.
* Experience advising on AFSL requirements and regulatory matters.
* An ownership mindset, with accountability for end-to-end legal processes and the ability to seek support when needed.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to diverse stakeholders.
* Exceptional project management and organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
