Director, clinical system governance

This is a unique opportunity for a senior clinical leader to make a meaningful impact across the entire ACT health system. You'll play a key role in:

* Supporting the implementation of clinical system governance and the ACT Clinical System Governance Arrangements.
* Driving clinical quality improvement initiatives and supporting the evolution of the ACT Clinical System Governance Committee, clinical networks and clinical quality registries.
* Contributing to the evaluation of healthcare services from a quality and safety perspective using quality and safety and consumer experience data to inform meaningful change across the whole ACT healthcare system.
* Engaging in broader clinical policy development and strategic planning.
* Leading a small expert and highly engaged team to achieve great outcomes.

About You

You're a motivated professional with a strong background in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety within a complex health system with the ability to see the "big picture" while strategically implementing positive change. You enjoy working in a decentralised team structure and are excited by the challenge of improving clinical outcomes and consumer experiences across diverse healthcare settings.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: This role requires you to have;

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge

* A strong understanding of the broader ACT and national public and private health system and a detailed knowledge of the national and local quality improvement and patient safety agenda.
* Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance frameworks and proven expertise in managing and implementing quality improvement tools and methods in healthcare or health innovation projects including analysis of complex health quality and safety performance information.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high emotional intelligence. This includes experience in maintaining effective and respectful relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and experience in high level writing for Executives.

Behavioural Capabilities

* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, analyse and synthesise information into actionable insights, provide time-critical advice, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work as a team member in a decentralised team structure while encouraging individuals to achieve their professional aspirations and leading the whole team to meet the business objectives of the OCMO.
* A commitment to work, health and safety (WH&S) and display behaviour consistent with the ACT Public Service Values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Innovation and Signature Behaviours.

Compliance Requirements/Qualifications

· Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
