About the role
The successful applicant will be based across two major hospitals within the Wide Bay region. These hospitals provide a broad spectrum of mental health services, including acute inpatient care, sub-acute and rehabilitation programs, and community-based support. The facilities serve a population of over 200,000 residents, including surrounding rural communities.
This is a senior clinical leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on adults experiencing complex mental health conditions. You will deliver expert, evidence-based psychiatric care across service settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and hospital-in-the-home programs. Responsibilities include direct clinical care, consultation-liaison duties, and service coordination across the mental health continuum.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will promote recovery-oriented practices, improve patient outcomes, and support individuals in rebuilding their lives. You will work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, peer workers, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement care plans. Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement, staff development, and service planning to strengthen mental health services regionally.
