My client is well establised in the Australian market and are now looking to hire a Regional Sales Director for the ANZ focussed on their Optical solutions. The role will report into the Country Manager and will be supported by an experienced pre sales engineer.

Position Summary:
* Define and execute the IP and Optical sales and go-to-market strategy for Tier 2 Service Provider Accounts, Channels, and Enterprise verticals (mining, utilities, transport, data center interconnect).
* Recruit & train new channel partners to develop pipeline
* Identify top direct and indirect sales opportunities to build a sales plan to exceed quota
* Maintain Salesforce and submit regular reports to management with forecast
Required Skills:
* 10+ years of sales experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on IP and Optical, selling into Service Providers, Channel, and verticals in Australia. New Zealand and Pacific Islands.
* Established customer relationships and proven ability to build new trusted relationships in with Tier 2 Service Providers and Enterprise verticals such as Mining, Utilities and DCI.
* Demonstrated record of accomplishment of exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive environment.
* Ability to work remotely, independently and manage all sales activities for all accounts.
* Consultative and solution-selling techniques, excellent business acumen, and technically astute.
* Able to find creative solutions to complex problems.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Business, Engineering, or related degree preferred.
* Willing to travel up to 20% of the time as the needs of the business dictate.
