The Role
The role involves driving system enhancements, overseeing analysis, design, and implementation of platforms supporting trading, market operations, settlements, and compliance. You will also be responsible for leading the onboarding and lifecycle management of current or bespoke trading products and ensuring their seamless integration into existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Apply in-depth knowledge of wholesale and retail electricity and/or gas markets, including settlements, bidding, forecasting, and dispatch processes.
Monitor and interpret regulatory and market developments (e.g., AEMO, NEM reforms, renewable integration) to assess business impacts.
Partner with business stakeholders to enhance market participation and ensure systems are aligned with evolving energy market dynamics.
Project Management
Lead the delivery of complex IT and business transformation projects across trading and market operations.
Develop project plans, manage risks, and coordinate stakeholders to achieve milestones on time and within scope.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners.
Ensure all projects adhere to governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.
Business Analysis
Engage with trading, risk, operations, and compliance teams to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
Translate market rules and operational processes into technical specifications for developers and vendors.
Conduct process mapping, facilitate workshops, and support system testing and implementation.
Identify opportunities for innovation and digital improvement across energy trading systems.
