The Role (Full-Time)
This is a hands-on leadership role across mornings and afternoons (including the odd weekend shift). You’ll be ensuring families feel valued, children progress confidently, and classes runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver High-Quality Instruction: Teach swimming lessons to children and adults of various skill levels, ensuring safety, progression, and enjoyment in the water.
Follow the Swim School Curriculum: Adhere to Marlins' swim school curriculum, tailoring lessons to the individual needs of students, and ensuring they are progressing through the levels.
Ensure Water Safety: Maintain a high standard of water safety at all times, ensuring that all students are supervised and safe during lessons.
Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment where all students feel comfortable and confident in the water.
Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students’ progress and provide feedback to both students and their parents regarding their achievements and areas for improvement.
Maintain Clear Communication with Parents and Staff: Keep parents informed about their child's progress, as well as any adjustments or special considerations that need to be made. Communicate with team members about lesson plans, any challenges, and student feedback.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance teaching techniques, water safety knowledge, and personal swimming skills.
Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Ensure that swimming equipment is in good working condition and that the pool area is clean and ready for lessons.
Uphold Marlins Swim School Values: Demonstrate the core values of integrity, loyalty, growth, and commitment to excellence in every aspect of the role.
Promote a Positive Culture: Contribute to the Marlins \"family\" atmosphere, building strong relationships with students, parents, and staff while providing excellent customer service.

Role Overview:
As the Sports Development Officer, you'll drive the growth of swimming across our local area.
You'll lead strategic initiatives focused on increasing participation, especially among school-aged children, while promoting partnerships and delivering key competitions and events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead competition development initiatives and partnerships across regional QLD
• Develop and implement participation growth strategies and programs for schools and local communities.
• Oversee state-wide competition management and event delivery.
• Collaborate with Coaches and management to develop training programs
• Manage budgets, prepare reports, and secure funding through grants and partnerships.
• Provide swim coaches with guidance and training
• Assist with competitions across the region
• Assist with the development of swim programmes across all age groups
• Support and develop clients for competitions in Queensland and regionally
• Work closely with Community bodies and regulators in Swimming to ensure compliance with all requirements.
About You:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are highly regarded.
• Ability to travel as required and hold a valid Working with Children Check.
• Promotes sports and skills development, and oversees the participation of young people in sport
About You
You’ll thrive in these roles if you:
* Have 3+ years of experience as a Swim School Manager, Coordinator, or Senior Instructor
* Hold recognised teaching qualifications: AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety, Swim Australia Teacher, or RLSSA (or ability to obtain)
* Hold current First Aid & CPR, plus a Paid Blue Card (QLD) (or ability to obtain)
* Love working with children and families, and can turn complaints into loyalty with warmth and professionalism
* Are confident in teaching across all levels and passionate about seeing kids progress
* Bring energy, initiative, and the ability to “do what’s needed” to keep things running at a high standard
Roster & Pay
* Full-time, split across mornings & afternoons, including the odd weekend shift
* Salary: $75,000–$85,000 + Super
