An exciting opportunity exists for skilled and organised Teacher Aides to join Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC), a unique Department of Education school located within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol. This temporary part‐time position (0.92 FTE, 70 hours per fortnight) provides general classroom support across a range of learning areas and welcomes applicants with experience or interest in Supporting Technology and Design (ITD).

We are seeking competent Teacher Aides who can support both general classroom environments and our Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) department.
Industrial Technology and Design (Manual Arts)
* A Manual Arts Teacher Aide will support teachers by preparing equipment, tools, and materials before classes, constructing project examples, maintaining stock and equipment, performing general cleaning duties, and assisting students during lessons.
* Ideal applicants have experience in building, construction, or metalwork, and can collaborate with staff and support student learning in a workshop environment.
Horticulture
* A Horticultural Teacher Aide supports trainers in delivering practical learning for students undertaking a Certificate I in Horticulture.
* Responsibilities include assisting students with landscaping, lawn maintenance, nursery operations, plant propagation, and irrigation; modelling safe practices, reinforcing training instructions, and maintaining tools, equipment, and grounds to industry standards.
* Ideal applicants bring horticulture or nursery experience, a passion for gardening, and a commitment to supporting students' confidence and pathways to employment.
