About the role
Applications are invited for a Technical Officer within the Sensory Research team.
This role provides technical and scientific support for research projects investigating the sensory properties of grapes, juice, and wine. You will assist with planning studies, preparing sensory laboratories, conducting sensory evaluations, supervising assessors, and analysing data.
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in sensory science and a passion for wine research who can work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities include:
* Provide technical support for sensory research projects, including planning and execution of studies.
* Prepare sensory laboratories and ensure protocols are followed.
* Conduct sensory evaluation tests and supervise assessors.
* Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure efficient operation of sensory labs.
* Record experimental work and contribute to reporting research outcomes.
* Assist in drafting and reviewing risk assessments and SOPs.

About you
To be successful, you will bring:
* A relevant degree in wine science, food science or science (e.g., BSc) or a Diploma with sensory analysis specialisation.
* Practical experience in sensory science and laboratory conduct.
* Knowledge of sensory science principles and basic statistical analysis.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Wine knowledge.
