Harristown State School is seeking a dynamic Head of Department, Curriculum to join our innovative and supportive leadership team. This position is focused on ensuring student success and will be offered for a period of 5 weeks, with the possibility of extension unless otherwise determined. This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The School
Harristown State School is a diverse primary school located in Toowoomba. Our school currently has an enrolment of approximately 450 students. We cater for over 36% of students who are EALD, 26% of students who identify as First Nations and 24% of students identified in our NCCD collection. The Head of Department, Curriculum leads the design, implementation and monitoring of high-quality teaching and learning programs across all year levels. You will support teachers through coaching, data analysis and curriculum alignment to ensure every student achieves academic success. The successful applicant must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Science of Reading and how to apply this across a school.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
