Deputy Chief Radiographer, Prince of Wales Hospital
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to oversee the day‐to‐day operations of one of the leading medical imaging departments in Sydney and support the leadership of the Chief Radiographer. This role is central in driving high‐quality clinical services, workforce development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the operational management of the Medical Imaging Department, ensuring effective service delivery and optimal use of the radiography and AHA workforce.
* Oversee equipment maintenance, registration, and quality assurance to meet all legislative and regulatory requirements.
* Manage over 100+ radiographer and AHA rosters to support service needs and ongoing workforce development.
* Support DIAS and hospital accreditation processes from preparation through to final submission and presentation.
* Foster a positive and productive workplace culture by guiding performance development, resolving grievances, and managing staff matters in line with NSW Health policies.
* Collaborate with the Chief Radiographer to oversee workforce activities and ensure accurate and timely documentation.

Where You'll be Working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non‐admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state‐of‐the‐art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria
* Possession of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Medical Radiation Practitioner registration and Environment Protection Authority (EPA) radiation licence.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and managing Allied Health staff rosters that align with operational requirements.
* Demonstrated experience in management to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change.
* Demonstrated ability to oversee all workforce activities, including human resources processes, recruitment and associated documentation, both independently and in collaboration with the Chief Radiographer.
* Demonstrated extensive experience in managing imaging operations across multiple locations, optimising service delivery through effective coordination and close collaboration with other craft group managers to achieve efficient and integrated service outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders in a multi‐disciplinary working environment.
* Proven experience in Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation System (DIAS) and hospital accreditation process, particularly in preparation, submission and presentation.
* Demonstrated extensive experience in imaging equipment project management and implementation, including planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and successful delivery of equipment upgrades and installations.
