*The Role
An opportunity has become available for a McGrath Clinical Nurse Consultant (Myeloma Cancer Care Nurse) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Support the multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients undergoing Myeloma treatment
Evaluate quality, patient focused outcomes, and report against specific key performance indicators
Lead quality initiatives to ensure delivery of contemporary, evidence based care to patients
Develop specialised Nurse-Led Clinics to compliment the current Haematological service
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Temporary part time (12 months with the possibility of extension, 64 hrs p.f.).
Base salary ranging from $ $74.76 per hour
About Us
The Specialist Cancer Nursing Team (SCNT) is part of the Cancer, Blood Disorders and Respiratory (CBDR) Clinical Business Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH).
A new cancer diagnosis, including intensive diagnostic work up and complex treatment regimens, can often result in patients and their families feeling fearful, anxious, and confused as they attempt to navigate their way through the complexities of their care pathway. The follow up phase of care offers similar uncertainties. The SCNT assists patients and their carers to navigate their journeys with a full understanding of the avenues of support available to them at any point along their pathway.
The SCNT is primarily streamed by cancer type and encompasses the entire patient journey from diagnosis through to survivorship. The SCNT dedicate their efforts at the diagnosis, treatment planning, follow up and survivorship stages to improve the patient experience of the cancer journey throughout the GCHHS.
The Haematology service at GCUH manages the care of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders.
