Mechanical Engineer - Fixed Plant Maintenance

Company: Liontown Resources Limited

Mechanical Engineer

Permanent Opportunity | FIFO from Perth (8/6 roster)

Based at Kathleen Valley Lithium Operations

Join a world-class lithium project in full production ramp-up.

At Liontown Resources, our Kathleen Valley operation is moving confidently into full-scale production. Following our recent capital raise and significant investment in growth, we're expanding our technical teams to support the long-term success of the mine.

This role will provide technical expertise in the design, modification, and optimisation of mechanical assets across the operation. You'll play a key role in ensuring safe and reliable equipment performance by delivering practical engineering solutions, supporting maintenance execution, and resolving operational challenges.

With our production ramp-up in full swing, this is a pivotal time to be part of Liontown. Our focus is on building a safe, reliable, and efficient operation – and this role will directly influence the performance and sustainability of our processing operations.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineering & Planning Superintendent, you will:

* Equipment Design & Installation – Develop and review mechanical components and systems, oversee equipment installation and commissioning.
* Maintenance & Reliability – Perform inspections, repairs, and provide technical support to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
* Project Management – Manage mechanical engineering projects end-to-end, coordinating stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
* Safety & Compliance – Ensure compliance with engineering standards, conduct risk assessments, and embed safety-in-design principles.
* Analysis & Optimisation – Carry out stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis to drive performance and efficiency improvements.
* Maintenance Support – Lead engineering investigations into failures and recommend design modifications, support maintainers with documentation and training.

What we're looking for

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering within mining or heavy industry.
* Proven experience in design, analysis, and optimisation of mechanical systems.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Proficient in engineering software and tools.
* Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Professional engineering license highly regarded.
* Ability to meet site requirements, including a current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain), pre-employment medical, and drug & alcohol screen.

Why Liontown

At Liontown, you'll be joining a company that's helping drive the clean energy future. Our operations are designed with sustainability at their core — powered by renewables and built for long-term impact.

This is your opportunity to take ownership of a pivotal technical role during a major project phase, while enjoying the stability of a long-term Perth-based position.
