Job Title:
This role supports the day-to-day management and coordination of responses to enquiries, overseeing business operations and internal systems, creating corporate documentation, providing administrative assistance to pharmacists, gathering data, analyzing information, generating reports, and conducting preliminary assessments of lower impact shortages.
Division Responsibilities:
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) safeguards and enhances public health through effective and timely administration of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. The TGA protects public health and safety by regulating therapeutic goods such as medicines, medical devices, biologicals, human blood, blood products, and tissues.
Branch Responsibilities:
The Pharmacovigilance Branch monitors post-market medicines and vaccines to ensure quality, safety, and efficacy following entry into the Australian marketplace. This branch evaluates and monitors Risk Management Plans for high-risk medicines and oversees access to products not on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods.
Section Responsibilities:
The Medicines Shortages Section publishes information about prescription and over-the-counter medicine shortages. Team members process shortage notifications from sponsors, conduct market assessments, and work with other TGA staff to monitor and mitigate the effects of medicine shortages.
