Brunel has partnered with a leading resources company to deliver a contract opportunity for Field Test Engineers.
Job Overview
This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on work with mine autonomy systems, leveraging their expertise in field testing and system integration for autonomous haulage systems (AHS) or heavy mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Field Testing Execution: Plan and execute on-site testing processes to verify AHS functionality at the system integration level, including interactions between obstacle detection, route navigation, and emergency subsystems.
* System Calibration and Verification: Calibrate and verify integrated vehicle control systems (e.g., steering, braking) and sensors (e.g., GNSS, CAN bus), conducting integration, performance, and reliability tests while documenting results.
* Issue Diagnosis and Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot hardware/software integration faults in autonomous systems, collaborating with teams to address challenges such as interface compatibility, data synchronization, and subsystem interoperability.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Align testing with technical integration goals, engaging engineers, architects, and OEM partners to ensure seamless system integration and verification.
* Risk Management: Mitigate risks in integrated system environments (e.g., network configurations, component interactions), adhering to engineering standards and protocols.
* Quality Metrics: Track metrics (e.g., integration success rates, fault detection rates) to verify compliance with AHS system standards.
* Reporting: Provide detailed reports on integration test outcomes, defects, and system readiness for further development.
