The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for the Bureau's business relationships with service delivery partners, government stakeholders, and both domestic and international customers operating in the Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport sectors.
The Melbourne Aviation Forecast Centre (AFC) Manager is responsible for a team of highly trained meteorologists who provide the specialised aviation forecasts and warnings used by pilots across southern Australia and international flights arriving from ports around the globe. Typically, forecast teams of 6, led by a senior meteorologist, work in two shifts per day to provide 24-hour operations every day of the year.
To be successful in this key role you will be a people-focussed leader with experience fostering high performing teams. You will understand how excellent and consistent service delivery is achieved by a combination of procedures and professional knowledge and judgement; familiarity working within a Quality Management System will be highly regarded. You will understand the particular demands of managing frontline teams working on shift. You will seek and value customer feedback as the food of champions and employ constructive criticism to inspire continual improvement.
