Overview
Lyric's Bar and Underground is an up market, medium sized, family owned bar, restaurant and live music venue with a capacity of approximately 400 patrons, located in the heart of Maylands. We are a diverse and well established local venue, hosting frequent events in the award winning Lyric's Underground which attracts patrons from across Perth and beyond.
Our restaurant is known for a relaxed up market menu that emphasises innovation, quality produce, and consistency. It is well regarded by both locals and visitors.
Role
We are seeking an accomplished, self motivated and innovative Head Chef to take ownership of our kitchen and work closely with our experienced hospitality management team to further the success of Lyric's.
The successful applicant will be expected to elevate kitchen standards, improve patron appeal, and support growth in food sales while maintaining efficiency, cost control, and a positive team culture.
The successful Chef will work closely with the Venue Manager and report directly to the Managing Director. They will be in a position to assist in employing a senior chef to support the kitchen operation. The role offers a high level of reasonable autonomy within the Lyric's kitchen, while requiring the Chef to actively drive a strong and collaborative working relationship between kitchen staff, front of house, and the wider management team.

* Setting appropriate staffing levels and sourcing quality produce to achieve agreed KPIs
* Maintaining a strong work life balance for yourself and your team
* Supporting the professional wellbeing of your team through training and skills development
Employment Conditions
Salary will be negotiable based on experience and capability and subject to performance.
Current hours of trade are fixed to provide permanent staff with an excellent work life balance:
* Closed Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays
* Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm
* Fridays to Sundays from 12.00 pm
Qualifications
* Current Senior First Aid Certificate
* Food Safety Supervisor certification
* A minimum of four years experience in a relevant senior kitchen role
* At least two years experience in kitchen management
* Proven training and staff supervision skills
* A hands on approach with the ability to multitask efficiently
Applicants with a strong background in a Sous Chef role may also be considered. However, only exceptional candidates will be assessed for this pathway.
In addition to this Head Chef position, the venue is also seeking a Sous Chef or Senior Chef to support the Head Chef.
